Happy New Year. The Lockdown Lapper's all socially distanced are ready to embrace the water for the first time in 2021.
I have not been posting my blog due to all the lockdowns in 2020, I felt at the time it was to respect the swimmers who could not reach the water due to distance restrictions. However I had made the decision to start up again before the new set of restrictions taking us back to a 5 k radius from our homes.
I feel so lucky to live here, my blog is a celebration and homage to what I am privileged to experience swimming .The benefits both physically and mentally I cannot put into words, I will let the photos do that for me.
My first time in a wet suit in a long time. I have been swimming without it, not going far but enjoying embracing the cold the feeling of it on my skin, it has become addictive. I felt out of puff , a bit slow and sluggish and rather tight and restricted in the squeaky rubber suit.
Going further is great though, I made it to the island and back while others looped around the island. Only making me feel I need to up my game . Always good to have something to aim for.
The chat with tea and cakes is just as much part of the swimming experience, although not quite the same . We reminisce of us all squeezed into the sauna and plan new swimming adventures. Roll on 2021.
All I really want is to go to Scotland and see my family. And swim in the Forth the Tay and around the island in the Hebrides.
Still dancing in my kitchen, alone. I cannot wait for the big party where we can dance together.
