A break in the weather this morning, it is windy and grey. Everyone I met had difficulty getting up and it seemed to get even greyer and darker as the day progressed. A swim directly after work with Anne- Marie I know will wake me up and make me feel better.
We head to the middle of the island and I fall behind, I seem to be getting slower these days. I need to improve my technique and start pool training. My mind cannot focus on technique, I love these wilder swims, the wind picks up and it starts raining and as well as losing my direction I get lost in the watery, misty landscape,
In front of the island..
looking back to Lough Hyne Hill.
I decided to swim safe with my inflatable swim float. The wind pushes it forward and it bangs my head and my arms get caught in it. I have to keep stopping to push it out of the way.
I am safer but even further behind Anne-Marie she is way ahead.
There are lots of starfish very close to the pier, huddled in various positions among the rocks.
As we get out a man walking past says we are either brave or mad. I like to think both, I certainly have woken up and feel alive.
Back at the studio I continue with the grey. Still to develop further….
