Four Seasons 2023

In the summer of 2022 I went on a trip of a lifetime to Iceland. I went on my own but joined an amazing group and guide where we hiked for six amazing days through The Laugavegur Trail. Both paintings are from where we started the hike in Landmannalaaugar in the Southern Highlands . The landscape is magical and diverse, I could not believe my eyes as it has a mixture of rainbow coloured rolling hills ,  steaming geothermal hot springs , black volcanic rock , turquoise lakes and ice fields. It just blew me away it was such an incredible experience of which I will never forget.

Folk 2022

West Cork Creates Exhibition 2022 in association with The Taste of West Cork Food Festival hosts its 11th Annual Summer Arts Festival from August 7th to the 28th. I am delighted to be one of the artists and craft makers to take part. The exhibition will also be online @ www.westcorkcreates.com.

This years theme is Folk . I was inspired by the Canadian artist  Alex Colville who paints people who are enjoying life on the water either swimming or on boats. My work usually is a fish eye view of what I see in the water on my adventures, so for this work I just had to take a step back and catch the swimmers in action. However I did focus on a more romantic sun soaked West Cork Summers day , one of those days where the sun is shining the water is sparkling and you can take time out to enjoy the water soaking up all the benefits of being in the water.

The work is dedicated to Declan Newman who died on May the 1st of May 2022. Declan was everything to our swimming group the Lough Hyne Lapper's he will forever be in our hearts. I feel so  privileged  to have known him and to have had so many  wonderful memories of swimming and having such great craic.

Thanks Declan for everything xxx.

Home Ground 2021

Home Ground was the theme for 2021 West Cork Creates Exhibition. The work I made especially for the exhibition is based on  West Corks beautiful rough and rugged coastline where I spend most of my time in or on top of the water.

The work reflects the patters , textures , rhythms and the emotive energy I experience in the water on my adventures swimming, surfing and paddle boarding, see my Blog for  more photographs from my watery adventures.

I have loved making this work searching for the beautiful light that bounces off the water and the sheer joy I experience, West Cork really is such a special place.
