Instead of my usual Sunday swim in Lough Hyne ,I sat in my car, on the pier with my wetsuit on, making a plastic swimming hat, for an enthusiastic lady and fellow Lapper Donna. Donna volunteered to help me, although not quite sure of what we were going to do. I myself had volunteered to be part of the latest “Happy in Baltimore” youtube short film, promoting the beautiful village and people of Baltimore. All of this is the baby of Sharon Rose McKeever. Sharon is a fellow graduate of Herriott Watt University (Textile Design).
I take great pride in the fact that Sharon came to Baltimore to cover for my maternity leave, nearly seventeen years ago. Like me never left. Sharon is a force to be reckoned with she gets an idea and she runs with it, and she manages to get the village behind her, taking part in often strange but extremely enjoyable fun things. She makes Baltimore an even happier place to live.
This year Sharon is hoping to take us through 100 years of Baltimore life a decade at a time. As well as volunteering for the groovy 70s ( love, love to dress up) I decided to take to the water and highlight the more serious challenges we will face in the future, “Time for Change.”
Thanks to Colin Hickey for filming and Donna for joining me. Watch out for the new Happy in Baltimore out soon.

Time for Change.
And possibly looking back to how we did things in the past.
