Waning Crescent Moon
Today is my birthday and no better way to spend it than swimming with the Lough Hyne Lapper’s.
There is a gang going in and all seem to be heading for the gap.
I have had a couple of swims since my return from Scotland and today the water temperature took my breath away. Paul told me after that he recorded 7.4 degrees in the middle. It certainly is the coldest I have felt in a long time. I felt a bit dizzy when I stopped to take this photo. It has happened to me before so I do not want to continue and turned back towards to the edge.
I meet more swimmers who are feeling the cold too and like me are having a short swim today. Others are going around the island. We are lucky the mobile sauna is here to warm us all up.
Thanks to Anne-Marie for my delicious Birthday cake. Marion and Denise share a jacket to keep warm.
Turning the Plastic Tide
Simon Duggan shares his tip for not using plastic bottles for water. His Hyro Flask keeps water cool even in the summer and he takes it with him everywhere. I will keep sharing tips for not buying plastic in my blog and have more information on products and where to get them on my Turning the Plastic Tide page on my website.
